Look up E-Rate service providers by name or SPIN in the USAC provider registry, then open a dashboard of any provider's E-Rate activity.
What is a SPIN?
A Service Provider Identification Number (SPIN) is the 9-digit number USAC assigns to every vendor registered to provide E-Rate-funded services. A vendor needs an active SPIN to be paid through E-Rate.
How to search
Type in the search box and click Search.
- By provider name — type all or part of the company name. Both the registered name and the DBA name are searched.
- By SPIN — enter a SPIN (5 to 9 digits). Any SPIN containing those digits matches.
- Natural language — when the sparkle icon is purple, the AI cleans up your text before searching (for example "Comcast" or "AT&T"). A purple label under the box shows what was searched. Click the sparkle icon to turn this off and search exactly as typed.
Up to 25 providers are returned per search.
Reading the results
Each row shows:
- SPIN
- Provider Name — the registered name
- DBA — the doing-business-as name, if there is one
- State — mailing state
- Contact Name, Email and Phone — the general contact on file with USAC
If nothing matches, you'll see No service providers found. Try the provider's full legal name or exact SPIN.
View intel
Click View intel on any row to open that provider's dashboard. It's built from USAC FRN status, line item and invoice data. Click Back to providers to return to your results.
The first time a large provider is opened, the dashboard can take up to about 30 seconds to build. A timer shows while it loads. After that, results are cached for 6 hours.
Header
The header shows the provider name, SPIN, DBA and state, plus four totals:
- Awarded · all years — pre-discount cost of funded and pending FRNs
- E-Rate share — the discounted amount requested or committed
- Disbursed — what USAC has paid on the provider's invoices
- Entities served
Awards by funding year
A bar chart with one bar per funding year that has Form 471 FRNs. Under each bar is the number of distinct entities.
- Use All / C2 / C1 to switch service category.
- Use Pre-discount / E-Rate share to switch the metric.
- Click a year's bar to filter the tables below to that year. Click it again to go back to all years.
- The chart itself always shows all years.
Funding year filter
The Funding year buttons (All years, or a single FY) set the year for the manufacturers and entities tables.
Top manufacturers resold
The manufacturers on this provider's funded and pending equipment FRNs, from Form 471 line items. The columns are Manufacturer, Total Awards, Units, Entities and Share of total. Click a column header to sort.
- Makes are named as they appear on the Form 471.
- Blank makes are grouped as (Unspecified).
- Click Other to expand it into the applicants' own descriptions of the make.
- The top 15 makes show first. Click Show all to see the rest.
- Category 1 service FRNs (circuits, internet access and other services) name no manufacturer. They are left out of this table, and a footnote gives their total.
- Export Excel downloads a workbook with the manufacturer table for the selected year, the Other descriptions (when there are any) and awards by year.
Top awarding entities
The top 25 applicants with funded or pending FRNs naming this provider, ranked by pre-discount award. The columns are Entity, BEN, State, FRNs, Awarded, E-Rate share and Last FY. Click an entity name to open its district profile in a new tab.
E-Rate funding by year
A table with one row per year: FRNs, Requested, Committed, Pending, Disbursed and Denied/Canc.
- Requested is pre-discount, across every FRN.
- Committed, Pending and Disbursed are the E-Rate (discounted) share.
- Click a year to see a state-by-state breakdown.
- Years without FRNs show invoice disbursements only.
If a provider has no Form 471 activity, the dashboard says No E-Rate activity found. If every FRN was denied or cancelled, it says No funded or pending requests.

Common uses
- Checking that a vendor is registered with USAC before an award
- Finding a provider's general contact
- Seeing which manufacturers a reseller sells through E-Rate, and to which districts
Verifying a vendor
Before signing an E-Rate contract, confirm the vendor has an active SPIN and a current FCC Form 498. USAC can't process invoices for a vendor whose 498 has lapsed.
