District C2 Budget Lookup
Look up any school district or library's Category 2 (C2) budget using USAC's C2 budget data. In the console it's District C2 Lookup under Search.
What it does
You filter USAC's C2 budget records by state, city, BEN or entity name and get one card per billed entity showing how much of its C2 budget has been funded and how much is still available.
How to search
The filter bar has four fields. Fill in at least one, then click Search.
- States — pick one or more states. The list is searchable.
- City — matches any city that contains what you type.
- BEN — the Billed Entity Number. This must be an exact match.
- Entity Name — matches any district or library name that contains what you type, so partial names work.
Filters combine. For example, States = TX plus Entity Name = "independent" returns Texas entities with "independent" in the name.
Click Clear to reset every field.
Reading the results
Results are sorted by entity name, A–Z. Each card shows:
- Entity name
- BEN, city, state and applicant type
- Available — C2 budget still available, in green
- Progress bar — blue is the used share of the budget, green is the available share
- "$X funded of $Y" — funded C2 amount out of the total C2 budget
The header above the cards shows how many districts matched and which filters you used.
Budget cycles
USAC runs C2 budgets on five-year cycles, so one BEN can have a record for more than one cycle. The lookup shows only the most recent cycle for each BEN, so every entity appears once.
Opening a district profile
Click any card to open that entity's district profile. The profile shows:
- the C2 budget (Total Budget, Funded, Pending, Available)
- a funding snapshot
- FRN history
- disbursements
Limits
- A search returns at most 100 entities. When you hit that limit, the header says "showing first 100". Narrow the search with a city, a name or fewer states to see the rest.
- If nothing matches, you'll see No districts found. Try a shorter part of the name, or search by BEN.
Tips
- If you know the BEN, search by BEN. It's the most precise filter.
- To browse a whole state, pick it under States and leave the other fields empty.
