Intelligence

Service Provider Intel

Look up any E-Rate service provider's funding history, find Form 470 bids, and track your own sales pipeline.

Service Provider Intel has three sub-tabs: Provider Intel (opens by default), Bid Prospecting and My Pipeline.

Provider Intel

What it does

Search for any service provider and open a dashboard showing what it was awarded by funding year, which manufacturers it resold, and its top customers. The same dashboard opens when you click View intel in SPIN Tracker.

  1. Type a provider name or a 9-digit SPIN into Search by service provider name or SPIN
  2. Click Search
  3. Click a row, or View intel, to open that provider's dashboard

A 9-digit number is treated as an exact SPIN. Anything else matches provider names that contain your text. Type at least 2 characters.

Only providers with funded or pending E-Rate requests are listed, ranked by total award. Up to 50 providers are shown. The results table shows SPIN, Service provider (with the DBA when it differs), State, FRNs, Latest FY and Total awarded. FRNs and Total awarded count funded and pending funding requests (pre-discount) across all funding years.

If nothing matches, try part of the legal name without "Inc." or "LLC", the DBA, or the 9-digit SPIN.

The provider dashboard

The header shows the provider name, SPIN, DBA and state, plus four totals:

TileMeaning
Awarded · all yearsPre-discount cost of the provider's funded and pending FRNs
E-Rate shareThe discounted amount requested or committed on those FRNs
DisbursedWhat USAC has paid on the provider's invoices
Entities servedDistinct applicants on those FRNs

The first time you open a large reseller, building the dashboard can take up to about 30 seconds. After that, results are cached for 6 hours. Click Back to providers to return to your search results.

Awards by funding year

A bar chart with one column per funding year. Each column shows the amount and the number of distinct entities ("ent"). Hover over a column for exact figures, including the C2 and C1 split and the number of FRNs.

Two toggles change what the chart measures:

  • Pre-discount / E-Rate share — Pre-discount is the full cost of funded and pending FRNs before the discount. E-Rate share is the discounted amount, the part E-Rate pays.
  • All / C2 / C1 — limit the chart to Category 2 or Category 1 FRNs.

The chart always shows all funding years and ignores the year filter. Click a year's column to filter the tables below to that year. Click it again to go back to all years.

Funding year filter

The Funding year chips (All years, then each FY) filter the Top manufacturers resold and Top awarding entities tables.

Top manufacturers resold

The manufacturers on the provider's funded and pending equipment FRNs, ranked by cost. Click a column header to sort.

ColumnMeaning
Total AwardsLine-item pre-discount cost for that manufacturer
UnitsOne-time plus monthly quantities
EntitiesDistinct applicant BENs
Share of totalThat manufacturer's share of the provider's equipment cost

Manufacturer names appear exactly as they were entered on the Form 471. Line items with no manufacturer are grouped as (Unspecified). Click Other to expand it into the descriptions applicants typed for those items.

Manufacturers come from Category 2 and Category 1 network-equipment FRNs. Category 1 service FRNs (circuits, internet access and other services) don't name a manufacturer, so they are left out. The table footer shows how much was excluded. Providers that only sell services have no manufacturer rows.

The top 15 manufacturers are shown first. Click Show all to see the rest.

Top awarding entities

The applicants with the largest funded or pending FRNs naming this provider, ranked by pre-discount award. Columns: Entity, BEN, State, FRNs, Awarded, E-Rate share and Last FY. Click an entity to open its district profile in a new tab.

E-Rate funding by year

A yearly table with FRNs, Requested, Committed, Pending, Disbursed and Denied/Canc. Requested is the pre-discount amount across every FRN. Committed, pending and disbursed are the E-Rate (discounted) share. Click a year to see a state-by-state breakdown. Years without FRNs show only invoice disbursements.

Export

Click Export Excel on the manufacturers table to download a workbook with:

  • The manufacturer table for the selected year or all years
  • The descriptions listed under "Other", when there are any
  • Awards by year, including C2 figures, pending FRNs and denied or cancelled FRNs

Data

The dashboard is built from USAC Open Data (FRN status, line items and invoices). The footer shows when USAC last updated the data and when the dashboard snapshot was built.
